I have decided that I want to write more about my life. After all, this is a blog, and I would like to express my feelings healthily. Right now, fitting everything into my schedule. Being in school, working full time, being a mom full time, wanting to try to squeeze in working out – now. A hobby? This sounds like social suicide.
I’ll be honest. My daily plate is more than what I can take on, however, I want to do more things for myself. The majority of my day is spent doing things for other people.
At work, I am the training coordinator and lead assistant. Currently, I am training a new assistant, and I am assisting in training a new doctor we hired. I am in charge of the training course, giving performance reviews, and supporting them when my assistant is on her own. For the doctor, I’m essentially on high alert for anything that deviates from our standard operating procedures.
At home, I get up in the morning and take care of the dogs before I manage to get myself together. I try to be as quick and quiet as a mouse, avoiding the long hallway while my baby girl sleeps soundly. Once I am ready, I get my daughter ready to go to her grandparents for the day.
For school, practically any time I see a moment in time… My nose is buried in my notes or textbook. On my lunch break, I do my best to put my phone down and flip through my notes and textbook. Occasionally asking questions to the senior technician and quizzing myself on my flashcards. A few days throughout the week I carve out time after my daughter went to bed or during a weekend nap.
I have yet to add working out to my regime; I’m thinking of doing it after my daughter has gone to bed, but I have not decided if morning would be more beneficial. All I know now is that the mornings are really hard for me.
None of this includes my regularly scheduled chores or housework. The floors need swept, carpets need vacuumed, things around the house need picked up, laundry needs done and folded, the dishes need to be done – etc.
My goal is to at least have some consecutive days – I am going to start a streak counter. It would be nice to do all of November. But I’ll take it one step at a time.
